Let’s Paint Together!  Creating a commission can be an imaginative, fun and fulfilling experience!  Not only are you receiving a piece of original art, it is a moment, an idea, an experience specific to you!  What better way to showcase your special moments!  

You may be asking yourself, “How do I even do this?  This is so out of my range.  I have never done anything like this before.”  Fear not, this is where we come in and make it as easy as possible!  There is a simple four step process, we created, to bring your dreams and vision to the canvas.  There are probably a bunch of different thoughts in your head that you want to bring out into a single piece.  We will sit down with you, have a conversation to bounce ideas around.  Once settled on a direction and we receive sign-off, we will get to work on the final painting.  This can be the trying time for you as you anticipate the final product.  Rest assured, we will work swiftly and let you know as soon as possible that the masterpiece is complete.  With a final approval the piece will be securely packaged up and shipped out for you to place in its final home!  

Outlined below is a more detailed step by step process for your understanding in how we work. 

1. Contact, Request and Inquiry

• Contact us:  This can be through the website, phone, email, or in person. 
• Concept: We will schedule a time to chat, whether in person or over the phone, for you to outline your vision.  This will include subject matter, size, media, placement, and budget.  We have developed a quick questionnaire that we can send to you ahead of time to assist in organizing your thoughts.  Many clients find this helpful, though not necessary.  Here you can bring any reference images that you have to share.  This could be a photo from a trip or a random image you found online.  
• Cost Estimate: The artist provides a price quote and timelines based on the request.

2. Contract and Deposit

• Contract: We will draw up a contract and review with you the agreement covering the discussed expectations, copyright and usage rights.
• Deposit: A non-refundable deposit (typically 25%) will be collected before work begins. 

3. Creation and Progress Checks

• Concept Design: We will create a few small sketches based on the prior concept conversation.  This takes the ideas from a thought and starts bringing them into reality through paper.  
• Design Development: From the sketches we will discuss and narrow down to a single design.  You will review the concept and approve direction to proceed.
• Work in progress: We will build the piece.  Here we give you the option of receiving periodic updates according to the schedule or be surprised with the final piece.

4. Reveal and Delivery

• Reveal and Approval: We will share the final painting with you for your review.  If there are any concerns we will address and update.  Upon final approval we will allow two weeks for drying and varnishing.  Varnishing provides a protective layer to the painting while creating definition. 
• Final payment: The remaining balance, shipping fees, and applicable taxes are paid in full. 
• Delivery: We will deliver the finished artwork to you by hand, if possible, or through shipping.
